Tampa, Florida - Some good Samaritans tried to help a frantic mother duck reclaim some of her ducklings Wednesday from a hungry storm drain in south Tampa.

It happened in the parking lot of a condo on in the 4000 block of South Dale Mabry.

Bystanders were able to pluck two of the three ducklings out of the storm sewer, but the third baby duck took off down the pipe.

The mother duck was also scared and took off with what remained of her brood.

A Hillsborough County employee came to the scene and took the two rescued ducklings.

The storm sewer pipe eventually drains to a ditch near the condo and the rescuers were hoping the duckling and mama would reunite later when the commotion was over.
