Clearwater, Florida -- A proposed route for light rail in Pinellas County has been released along with a new video promoting the line. The information comes as officials prepare for another e-Town Hall meeting on the subject.

The meeting is part of the Pinellas Transit Study and will be held tonight (Wed. Jan. 18th) at 7 p.m.  You can join the meeting by clicking here.

The proposed light rail line would begin in downtown Clearwater and run 24-miles before ending in downtown St. Petersburg. The line would have 16 stops and eventually officials hope it will connect to Hillsborough County.

"This is everybody's project. It will affect everybody so we want to hear from everyone. We want to know what you think, where you want to see it go, what you want to see it consist of, we need that feedback," Community Relations Manager Bob Lasher with the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority.

It is still unclear how the project will be financed, but officials estimate it will cost $1.5 billion.

Lasher says best case scenario is work on the line will begin in 10 to 12 years.
