WTSP is in the process of moving our transmitter from Holiday to Riverview. This will help improve the over the air reception for many viewers in the Tampa Bay area because we will now be co-located with the other Tampa stations.
There will be a brief interruption of service for over the air customers as we make the switch. We will go off the air tonight after Letterman at 12:35 a.m. and expect to be back on the air by 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
With the move to our temporary antenna, we will be broadcasting at half our usual power until we get our permanent antenna installed in Riverview. This could affect viewers that receive our signal over the air with marginal reception. That could be viewers using indoor, set-top antennas or those who are distant from the Holiday/Tarpon Springs area where our current transmit tower is.
After the move is complete, those who have never been able to receive Ch. 10 over the air with their antenna systems may need to rescan their TVs and converter boxes.
Here are a few important things to note:
Most cable and satellite customers will not be affected at anytime by this transition. WTSP provides dedicated feeds to Bright House, Verizon, Comcast, Knology, Direct TV and Dish Network in the greater Tampa Bay area. However, there are a few smaller cable systems that still pick us up over the air that will have to make adjustments. Contact your cable provider if you notice a problem.
If you lose Ch. 10 reception after the move, try rescanning your TV or converter box.
If you are still experiencing problems after adjusting your antenna and rescanning your TV or converter box, you can call us at 727-577-8510 or click here to email us.
