Charleston, South Carolina -- As many as 1,000 bikers are expected for a motorcycle rally in Charleston to raise money for clean drinking water in Africa.

Organizers say Saturday's Bikers for Africa ride has a goal of raising $18,000 for Water Missions International. That's the nonprofit based in Charleston that that provides water treatment systems to areas without clean water.

The agency says there are 20 million people in Uganda without access to clean water.

Last year, about 500 bikers took part in the ride through Charleston and raised $12,000 for water treatment systems for Haiti after the devastating earthquake there.
