Clearwater, Florida - Police have brought a DUI Manslaughter charge against a Clearwater man involved in a crash that left a motorcyclist dead.

Simon Holmes, 27, of Clearwater was arrested Thursday morning.

He's accused of turning his car into the path of a motorcycle on State Road 590 last September 20th, causing fatal injuries to the driver, Mark Nolf, 50.

Police said the case required extensive investigation and forensic tests to determine who was at the wheel of the car, which was registered to Holmes' passenger, Christina Gogerty, 28.

Blood alcohol tests showed Holmes registered a 0.16 an hour after the crash. That's more than twice the state's level of presumed intoxication, police said.

Holmes was being held at the county jail in lieu of $20,000 on the felony count.
