Treasure Island, Florida - Pool party preps at one Treasure Island venue are in full "swim". Before the clink of champagne glasses, there's the clank of metal.

At The Club at Treasure Island work crews are busy transforming the pool to party platform. They're constructing an acrylic cover and on a morning that saw frost on the ground, it's a good thing this water work zone is heated.

"When we showed up this morning there was steam coming off the pool," says Owen McCloskey of Premier Tenting Solutions, the company hired by the club to cover the pool. "My crew was very happy to see the steam; it meant the pool was warm and thank goodness it's about 80 degrees."

Come Friday night no diving here, just disco with KC and The Sunshine Band. About 700 people are expected to get down over the water. "We're going to light the building, light the whole area and make it the baddest party on New Year's Eve you've ever seen," says Club at TI owner Bill Edwards.

While the venue holds its big outdoor parties, The Club is really trying to make a name for itself as a smaller, more intimate entertainment venue. Acts playing in the dining and bar area have a Vegas feel.

"It's an intimate, cabaret setting, yet with great stars on stage," says Edwards.

And if you're wondering if on New Year's Eve the pool cover can handle all those "Boogie Shoes", McCloskey guarantees everyone's booty will stay dry.  "No one's going to take a plunge."
