St. Petersburg, Florida -- There is no change in residential trash collections in the city of St. Petersburg this week and next, but some facilities have different schedules for the holidays.

The Coliseum will be open on Saturday, December 25 for an 8 p.m. event, the Gibbs High School Class of 1968 annual reunion dance. And, the Coliseum will be open on New Year's Eve, December 31, for the "Swinging in the New Year" event from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Enoch Davis Center will be open January 1 for the Imani (Faith) Kwanzaa event, beginning at 6 p.m.

Early Closings:

North Shore Aquatic Complex will close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve (December 24 and 31) and be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day (December 25 and January 1). Boyd Hill Nature Preserve will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve and be closed Christmas and New Year's Day.

Mangrove Bay and Twin Brooks Golf Courses will have the last ball sale at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Progress Energy Center for the Arts/Mahaffey Theater Box Office will be open on December 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for last minute holiday shoppers. Mahaffey Theater will be closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Public Libraries:

St. Petersburg public libraries, except the West branch, will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, December 20 through Thursday, December 23.  All library branches will be closed December 24 and 25, 31, and January 1.  The Main Library will be open December 26 and January 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

All branches except the West Community Library will return to regular hours December 27 through December 30.  The West Community Library will be open December 20 and December 27 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and December 21-22 and 28-29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The branch will be closed December 23 to 26 and December

30 through January 2.   All libraries will return to a normal schedule beginning Monday, January 3.
