BARTOW, FL --  The testimony was so terrifying that it had people in the courtroom shaking their heads in disbelief and disgust. A recounting of details that were obviously diffcult for witnesses to deliver - and often difficult for jurors to hear.

On day two of Leon Davis, Jr.'s trial, witness Fran Murray told the jury about words she'd shared with one of Davis's alleged vistims, 26-year-old Yvonne Bustamante.

"She said that she wasn't going to make it and that she loved her children very much," said Murray choking back tears.

"Her hair was completely burned. Her skin was falling off her body," said Murray.

Murray is the second person to testify against Davis. The 32-year-old is accused of walking into a Lake Wales insurance office in December 2007, robbing, binding two women with duct tape, then dousing them with gasoline and setting them on fire.

Bustamante, 26, along with 23-year-old Juanita Luciano, and Luicano's prematurely delivered son, all died from their injuries.

"She didn't understand why someone would want to rob her because she didn't have any money and it hurt so bad," Murray testified.

Murray also said she saw a man matching Davis's general description leaving the scene, and placing a handgun into an orange-colored lunch bag.  But when asked if she could identify Davis, who was sitting in court as that man, Murray said she could not.

There was similar, graphic testimony from 26-year-old Ashley Smith and 35-year-old Jaidy Jimenez. Both women recognized the victims from past encounters. Both, still clearly haunted by what they saw that day.

"The duct tape was around her neck  like somebody had wrapped it and I guess as it burned it was, like, stuck to her flesh," said Jimenez.

"She was just badly burned. She was asking for help. She was hysterical," said Smith.

About a half dozen of the victims' friends and relatives were in the courtroom as well, wiping away tears. The testimony, difficult to listen to.

Next on the stand, prosecutors are expected to call Brandon Greissman to the stand. Davis is also alleged to have fired several shots that day, and Greissman was shot in the face.
