Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens arrested on drug charges

Tampa, Florida - Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens was arrested Saturday evening on drug charges after being pulled over for loud music.

Tampa Police tell us they pulled Stevens over for loud music at Cypress and Westshore in Tampa. When the sergeant approached the vehicle, he smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

According to police the officer conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered 38 grams of marijuana.

Stevens was arrested and booked into the Orient Road Jail, charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana. He was release on $4,500 bond.

Buccaneers spokesman Jonathan Grella said the team is troubled by the arrest and that Stevens will not play in Sunday's game.

This was not the first brush with the law for Stevens, as the tight end was arrested in 2007 in Arizona on a DUI charge and possession of marijuana, which he served a one-game suspension.

Stevens also missed the first two games of the 2008 season for violating the National Football League's substance abuse policy.

The 30-year-old has caught three passes for 43 yards this season.
