Tampa, Florida -- About 2,000 gallons of gasoline spilled at the Port of Tampa today, causing a shutdown of one of the streets. None of the fuel got into waterways, Tampa Fire Rescue reported.
The accident happened when a tanker truck was leaving the Marathon Fuel Terminal near Linsey and 20th Streets. The truck struck a cement parking post.
Crews were on scene for several hours cleaning up the spilled fuel. During that time, 20th Street was closed between Durham and Grant.
The fire department reported no injuries.
The truck driver was identified as Thomas D. Camery, 51, of Auburndale. Police reported he would be cites for an improper left turn.
