Tampa, Florida - Andre Watkins, the man who police say went on a shooting spree Friday night, made his first court appearance Sunday morning at the Falkenburg Road Jail.
Deputies brought Watkins out with a hood on; Debbie Carter from HCSO said they do that if a prisoner has tried to spit on the deputies.
As soon as the hood was removed for the hearing, Watkins launched into a profanity-laced tirade. At one point, Watkins tells the judge "F*** you."
Watkins said his rights are being violated, he cannot take a shower, and he requested that they pull his pants up. He also mentioned that his situation was a result of drug dealing done in front of his mother's house, and the sheriff's department would not help him with that.
After refusing use of the public defender, he said his attorney was Dominic O. Fariello.
The hearing has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. so his lawyer could attend.
