Tampa, Florida -- Attention procrastinators! The final deadline to ensure your holiday gifts arrive in time for Christmas are upon you now.
"If it absolutely, positively has to be there by Christmas, it's got to be Express Mail," said Russ Racine, with the U.S. Postal Service.
USPS says today is the last recommended day to ship using Express Mail. Fees are based on weight and distance. A flat rate Express Mail envelope ships for $17.50, no matter where the destination is.
If you don't think you'll make it to your local post office by closing time, the Post Office says there are two locations in the Bay Area that will be open late.
A temporary location has been set up at Citrus Park Mall in Tampa near Santa. Racine says that location will be open during mall hours.
You can also drop your cards and packages off at the main post office at Tampa International Airport.
All Post Offices will be open Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, but most will be closing at noon. This will not impact deliveries on these days. Call 1-800-ASK-USPS for more information.
UPS and FedEX are also taking overnight packages today.
