Tampa, Florida - Sunday a "Dog Day Afternoon" fundraiser was held for the Southeastern Guide Dogs Paws for Patriots program.
The event was held at Stadium Toyota at 5088 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa. The money raised from the sale of pet safety equipment is going to the Paws for Patriots program, which provides guide dogs for blind and visually impaired veterans.
Paula Best is a volunteer for Southeastern Guide Dogs and says, "It's hard for anyone that has lost their vision and having to always rely on someone else to take them places. Now, a guide dog can do that and help them to safely get from point A to point B and travel independently."
Best says so far they've placed over 100 dogs with veterans.
