Pasco County - Aqua Utilities Florida issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the Jasmine water system in Port Richey, Pasco County.

Customers are advised that water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.

Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water.

The precautionary boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

Aqua will test the water to ensure that no contamination took place during the main break and repairs.

Aqua will notify customers through the media and signage when the boil advisory is lifted.

Customers with questions about this incident may contact Aqua customer service at 877 - 987 - 2782.
