St. Petersburg, Florida -- An elderly man was killed Wednesday night after his car was T-boned by a truck while leaving Eckerd College.
St. Pete Police say when Robert Shepherd exited the main entrance/exit at the college to go west on 54th Avenue S, he pulled out in front of Robert McClure's pickup truck that was heading east on the road.
McClure's truck T-boned the left side of Shepherd's Buick LaSabre sending it over the median and into the westbound left turn lane.
Shepherd, 85, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His passengers: 84-year-old Frances Sparzani, is listed in critical condition and 87-year-old Aldo Sparzani suffered minor injuries.
Neither McClure, 46, nor his passengers were injured.
