Temperatures are now moving into the 90s as we head toward highs in the mid 90s. The record high for today is 95 set back in 1990. We will be close to that today!
The heat index will range from 103 degrees by the coast to 113 degrees for some inland areas. Isolated storms will be possible from 2-6 PM mainly along and east of I-75.
Wednesday will be similar today with hot temperatures and a few storms.
On Thursday, as the ridge of high pressure weakens, moisture will spread northward as a tropical wave moves from the Caribbean toward the Gulf of Mexico. The added moisture along with light winds and more active sea breezes will increase our storm coverage to 60%. With the additional clouds and rain, we will shave several degrees of our daytime highs bringing us back to normal levels with highs around 90 degrees.
