The streak of record heat continues today as highs reach the upper 80s to near 90. Tampa will top out at 88, just shy of the record of 89. There will be a few late afternoon showers east of I75 after 4 p.m.

There be a few more showers inland tomorrow, then cooler air and slightly higher rain chances arrive Saturday.

Thursday Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. East wind 7 to 9 mph becoming south in the afternoon.  Partly sunny afternoon with a few showers 20% inland after 4 p.m.

Friday Partly sunny, with a high near 86. South southwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Friday Night A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South southwest wind 5 to 11 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
