Clearwater, Florida - A storekeeper has been charged in a stolen checks and credit card scheme - for the third time.

Police said Jaqueeba Elaine Johnson, 31, of Thick and Thin Fashions, 1494 S. Belcher Road, allegedly deposited stolen checks worth more than $15,000 into several Regions Bank accounts, and withdrew $1,900.

At about the same time, several credit card owners reported fraudulent activity on their accounts at the store.

Police said Johnson acquired account information from the victims and fraudulently ran stolen account numbers through her merchant account at the store. This resulted, police said, in almost $5,000 worth of fraudulent transactions.

Johnson has been charged with two counts of fraudulent use of personal identification, and scheme to defraud.

The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are pending, police said.

Johnson, also known as Jaqueeba Marshall, served two terms in state prison for previous offenses in Pinellas County.

She was convicted in 2005 on grand theft, organized fraud and fraudulent use of a personal ID, and in 2002 on stolen property, credit card fraud and grand theft charges.
