St. Petersburg, Florida - The fear was in his eyes as he begged for his life.

The mild-mannered clerk from Bangladesh fought for his life against two men who shoved guns in his face, pressing against his flesh.

One of the men held a sawed-off shotgun, while the other held a pistol.

It was April 9th around 9:30 p.m. at the Mini-Mart convenience store on 46th Avenue North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

The men burst in the door, and they weren't stopping.

Detective Jeff Capra from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office tells 10 News, "He was very scared. He thought, he told me that he thought he was going to die. I mean, the shotgun is in his face."

As the guys ran out of the store, several witnesses ran inside, asking the clerk if he was OK. It turns out, these people saved his life.

The witnesses saw the men running in with guns, and they stopped at the store, popping their heads in to yell, "The cops are coming."

That's when the guys ran out into the parking lot. They had no idea that they'd be stuck without a ride!

While detectives were surprised by the violence of this robbery, it's what happened next that had investigators thinking maybe these guys aren't so smooth after all.

The gunmen were left behind by their own getaway car.

The car took off, leaving the guys stranded in the parking lot.  They were seen running for their ride.

Detective Capra added, "They meant business. That's why I'm looking for some help in identifying these people."

Here's what detectives want you to pay close attention to: A distinct white hoodie with a unique pattern.

One of the men is seen getting out of the car with dark flip-flops and shorts. Then, there's the dark, four-door Dodge Intrepid.  It's a car that someone could easily recognize.

No doubt the clerk is hoping that these men will be caught soon and they won't be able to terrorize anyone else on the streets of Pinellas County.

If you reconize the men, please call Crime Stoppers of Pinellas Counrty at 1-800-873-TIPS.
