Redington Beach, Florida -- Monty Grow was known for laying the smackdown on his opponent during his time as a linebacker for the Florida Gators, but Grow got the smackdown Sunday night when cops were called to a parking lot along U.S. 19 in Clearwater.

Pinellas County deputies say a 3-year-old girl was left alone inside his vehicle while he went inside Diamond Dolls strip club next door.

"Mr. Grow was arrested for child abuse after he left a 3-year-old child who was in his care inside a vehicle in a parking lot while he was inside the strip club Diamond Dolls," said Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Cecilia Berreta.

According to deputies, the child's mother had been tracking Grow on her cellphone GPS and arrived within minutes. When she arrived with her parents, they immediately took the child out of the vehicle.

Grow told investigators he stopped into the strip club to collect money on a debt and was only inside for 20 minutes. 10 News stopped into Diamond Dolls for comment on who Grow may have been looking for, but management refused to comment and asked us to leave.

Grow lives at Ocean 12, a low-rise condo tower in Reddington Beach. His LinkedIn page indicates he has operated several multi-million dollar companies and is currently managing member of Phatlinks Media, a marketing LLC.
