Wesley Chapel, Florida -- A Wesley Chapel man is behind bars Monday after he got so angry over a lost cell phone he reportedly attacked his brother -- and a deputy who tried to step in and end the fight.
Pasco Sheriff's deputies say Michael Brown was with his brother and three friends on their way back to Wesley Chapel from a party in Tampa when he got upset over his lost cell phone. An argument started between all of them and the driver pulled the car over in the Publix parking lot in the 5400 block of SR 54.
Everyone got out and the friends told police Brown started to come at them but his brother grabbed him and tried to hold him back. That's when the two started wrestling with each other.
One of the friend's grabbed a deputy in the area and when the deputy yelled at the two to stop Brown replied, "F*** your badge! F*** the police! I don't give a f***!"
The deputy initially stayed back while he waited for back-up to arrive. At one point, though, the two brothers fell to the ground and the deputy jumped in to try to handcuff Brown. As he tried to handcuff Brown, Brown reportedly kicked the deputy multiple times in the abdomen area. The deputy also reported Brown came at him aggressively while throwing several punches and landed one near the deputy's right eyebrow causing a deep cut that required stitches.
Brown, 20, was eventually arrested and charged with 3 counts simple battery, one count simple domestic battery, felony battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence.
