Man arrested for robbing two convenience stores

Manatee County, Florida -- A man has been arrested for robbing two convenience stores. 

Gary Robinson robbed a Circle K and a 7-11 in Bradenton around two in the morning on May 3. 

Reportedly, Robinson walked into a 7-11 on Pearl Avenue and went to the back of the store to get a drink. Robinson then went to the cashier as if to purchase the drink but when the cash register was opened, the Robinson lunged over the counter for the open cash drawer.

The 7-11 clerk resisted and a brief struggle ensued lasting approximately one minute. The suspect managing to grab a small amount of cash, between $5 and $10, out of the cash drawer before leaving the store with the cash and the drink. 

Robinson fled the area Southbound on US 41 to a Circle K Convenience store attempting the same thing, this time grabbing an unknown amount of money and slamming the store clerk's hand in the register drawer. 

With the assistance of Patrol Units and K-9, Gary Robinson was identified and arrested without incident. 

Violent Crimes Detectives interviewed Robinson who confessed to the Robbery.
