MIAMI (AP) - A South Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for a robbery at Calder Race Track and Casino that left a South Florida armored truck guard dead.

A federal judge sentenced Vladimir Louissant on Wednesday. At the same time, Victoria Barkley got 10 years, and Byron Kyler got five. The trio, along with Reginald Mitchell and Uri Ammar, were convicted last fall of charges related to the August 2011 Brinks truck robbery.

Authorities say Mitchell and Ammar both worked security at Calder, and Mitchell recruited Louissant, Barkley and Kyler to help rob the truck. Court documents say Louissant fired the shot that killed Alvaro Lopez Ramos when the two men exchanged gunfire.

The Miami Herald reports that Mitchell and Ammar have not yet been sentenced.
