Tampa, Florida-- The murders happened in West Virginia in the 1970s, but evidence that surfaced recently led officials to believe a Tampa man is responsible.
According to reports, officials from the Fairmont Police Department in West Virginia uncovered evidence that linked 59-year-old Eddie Jack Washington to three, decades-old, execution-style murders.
They put out a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday, February 6, and within one day, U.S. Marshals Service officials and Florida Regional Task Force officials located and arrested Washington for First Degree Murder.
Reports say to make the arrest, officials followed Washington as he left his apartment off the 2400 block of E 17th Ave., and went to the local "Friendly Meat and Grocery" off 34th St.
Tampa Police Homicide Detectives now have Washington in custody for questioning.
