BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) - Missing: A rare violin in home.

Manatee County authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the 243-year-old violin. The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports it was taken from a home in Bradenton. It was reported stolen on Jan. 18 by its owner.

A sheriff's office report says the violin is a German Gabriel David Buchstetter instrument, with reddish-brown varnish. The bow has silver trim and eyes made of mother-of-pearl.
