Clearwater, Florida -- Police have arrested a man working a police aide for the City of Clearwater for sending an 11-year-old girl sexually explicit images online.
When the victim's mother became aware of the messages being sent to her daughter through Facebook she called police. Detectives from the Crimes Against Children and Families unit started an undercover operation and began talking to the man, identified as 35-year-old Toby Malloy, through the girl's Facebook and email accounts.
During their investigation, Malloy reportedly sent several sexually explicit images to who he thought was the 11-year-old.
Detectives arrested Malloy at his Clearwater home Monday and he is being charged with transmission of material harmful to minors.
Clearwater Police say Malloy was working as a police aide at the city's main library where he met the girl. His work history includes a part-time custodial worker, part-time police aide and full-time police aide with the library.
