Tampa, FL-- It was just after 4:30 on Friday afternoon when a suspect robbed the Bank of America off of Westshore Blvd. and tried to get away by entering the nearby mall.
Fortunately, Police say after Patrol Officers, K9 and Air Service responded to the scene and set up a perimeter, they were able to locate and arrest 49-year-old Tommy Cunneen III.
During the robbery, Cunneen reportedly had a gun in his briefcase when he handed a bank teller a note asking for money. The teller complied with his request, and gave him cash in a bag provided by Cunneen.
After receiving the cash, police say he fled, and attempted to escape through Westshore Mall, though a bank employee saw him entering the mall.
Police were able to catch Cunneen on the south side of the building, and they also recover both the gun, and the money.
