Bartow, Florida -- A fight over a girl escalated into a shooting and now Bartow police have issued a warrant for the suspect.

On Tuesday, August 22 at or around 11 p.m., Bartow Police officers responded to the Azalea Gardens apartment complex off of Golfview Ave. for reports of a shooting.

During the investigation, the victim, identified as Rodney White, told patrol officers that he was involved in a shouting match with Christopher McNeal over a woman.

Once the argument ended, police say the two separated, but that minutes later a friend of McNeal's, identified as 27-year-old Jeffery Mosley, confronted White.

White told police Mosley was armed with a small handgun, and that as Mosley approach him, he started shouting obscenities at him and firing the weapon.

After firing several rounds, police say White took off.

Detective say it appears Mosley fired at least eight rounds.

Although White was not hit, investigators say two occupied apartments and an unoccupied vehicle were struck with stray rounds.

No injuries were reported.

Now, Bartow police have issued an arrest warrant Mosley for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
