Valspar Championship: What you need to know

Palm Harbor, Florida -- The Valspar Championship at Innisbrook's famous Copperhead Course this weekend will bring many of the world's top golfers to the Tampa Bay area.

Official tournament play begins Thursday when 144 players will play for a spot on the weekend roster which is trimmed down to 70 players (plus ties).

Site activities include Valspar Color Experience, Frenchy's Pool Party, Bright House Sports Network Sports Pavilion, Michelob ULTRA 19th Hole (all at 18th green), Hooters Owl's Nest (at 17th green, hosts 3M Million Dollar Hole-in-One Challenge on Saturday), Pinch A Penny Birdies for the Brave Patriots Outpost (16th green) and more.

Attendees should wear comfortable clothes, walking shoes, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Also, you can help make the Valspar Championship the most colorful tournament of the PGA TOUR by wearing your brightest attire.

Below you can find some additional info for anyone who plans to attend the event.

Parking: ALL parking Monday-Wednesday is located in Lot #1 at the southwest corner of Belcher and Klosterman Roads. Public parking (including handicapped) Thursday-Sunday is located in Lot #2 at the Tarpon Springs Campus of St. Petersburg College at the southeast corner of Belcher and Klosterman Roads. Parking is $10, and shuttles to the Copperhead Clubhouse run throughout the day.

Event coordinators are encouraging everyone to use Belcher Road northbound to Klosterman Road.


* If coming from the north, take US 19 south to Klosterman Road, turn right and look for signs and directions to the parking lot.

* If coming from the south, take US 19 north to Tampa Road, turn left to Belcher Road, turn right and follow Belcher Road to just before Klosterman Road and look for parking signs.

Seating: Bleachers open to the public are available at the 1st tee and 4th, 9th, 14th and 18th greens.  

Viewing: Stay behind the gallery ropes and kneel if near the ropes so those behind can see. Attendees must observe silence and wait until all players have completed shots before moving on.

Mobile policy: Mobile devices must be silenced with calls permitted only in TOUR-approved areas. No data use or camera phones when players are in position to compete or when quiet paddles are raised. Photography of any kind is not permitted Thurs-Sun.

Food: There are several concession stands throughout the course.

Autographs: Main autograph area is between the 1st tee and Copperhead Clubhouse. Players are permitted to sign autographs only after the completion of their round.

Security: No bags larger than a small purse (approximately 6x6), including carrying cases, backpacks, camera bags or chair bags. Visit to review all guidelines.
