Tampa, Florida -- Gov. Scott was in Hillsborough County Thursday to meet with child protective investigators and thank them for their dedication to Florida's children.
At the press conference, Scott committed more than $30 million for Florida DCF services that target protecting at-risk children and families by expanding investigation initiatives that are currently being tested. An additional $8 million will also go to sheriff's offices that conduct child protective investigative services.
During his visit, 10 News asked him how he felt about a bill that would allow certain teachers and school employees to carry guns on campus.
"I believe in the 2nd Amendment and I believe in safety in schools so I'll review any bill like that that comes to my desk, but I have not seen the bill yet," he said.
The bill requires eligible school employees to undergo plenty of training before becoming armed with guns.
