Tampa, Florida - The thrills of flight will once again be on display at MacDill. The Air Force Base is hosting Tampa Bay AirFest 2014 on March 22 and 23.
As in the past, all sorts of military aircraft will be on display. Visitors will actually be able to go on board some of the planes. But of course the big draw for the weekend will be the incredible precision flying of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
The event was canceled in 2013, because of federal budget restraints and budget cuts will also affect this year's show.
However, Col. Scott DeThomas, MacDill Base Commander, still promises the public a high-quality event. He says it's possible because community leaders stepped up to provide the participation of more civilian planes.
"Our dance card is still full," assured DeThomas.
