Clearwater Beach, Florida -- The best weather in the country has once again sent the people from all over flocking to Bay area beaches. And while many are looking forward to a good time, police are making sure spring breakers aren't breaking any rules.

It doesn't matter which side scores in his volleyball game, Luke Combs knows he's already won with spring break on Clearwater Beach.

"You can't beat the heat when its six degrees in Detroit," says Combs.

Lindsey Mattia from Pennsylvania is also soaking in the sun.

"It's so nice. It doesn't get better than this," says Mattia.

But with tens of thousands of other spring breakers thinking the same way, police are ready to soak up any trouble.

"We have officers on cruisers, on bikes, and on beach mules," says Rob Shaw with the Clearwater Police Department.

Clearwater police will have extra patrols out on the beach for the next month, asking people to be patient while waiting in traffic and follow the rules.

"There's no drinking on Clearwater Beach. No tolerance for that," says Shaw.

For Luke Combs, he says he doesn't mind following a few rules, because weather like this in March will be a good time no matter what.

"It's spring break, it doesn't matter," says Combs.

Now police want to make sure everyone out here plays it safe and smart. If you have any valuables with you don't leave them on your towel, be mindful of your items. Also, if you see any trouble whatsoever from loud music to drinking on the beach give police a call.
