St. Petersburg, Florida -- A sanitary sewer line leak at South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility was contained Monday morning after releasing approximately 1,500 to 2,000 gallons into Joe's Creek.
County officials say the leak is believed to be in a 36-inch force main that crosses the creek. Crews are working on repairs.
Residents are asked to refrain from any recreational activity in the waterway until results from water samples return. The results are expected by Wednesday.
