Ruskin, Florida-- Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue is still investigating how a mobile home fire started on Friday night in Ruskin at 425 18th Street SE.

STORY: Family remains in hospital child's life lost in fire

Kristina White, who was in the mobile home fire in Ruskin that night, went back on Monday morning to see what was left of her boyfriend's trailer.

"It's overwhelming," said White. Her boyfriend, Monico Carmona, was living in the mobile home.  "It's heartbreaking. It's depressing. It's just like seeing everything happen all over again."

White and Carmona were sleeping inside the mobile home Friday night at 11:30 when White woke up and smelled smoke.

"I saw it under the bed and then I woke Monico up and we grabbed the baby," White expplained.

They quickly grabbed Monico's eight-month-old son, two-year-old daughter and White's four-year-old son, but they couldn't get to Monico's oldest daughter, four-year-old Alejandra.

"What hurts the most is I couldn't find her when I tried to get back in there," cried White.  "I couldn't find her. I was calling her I didn't hear nothing. I couldn't see her."

White suffered severe burns on her feet and nose. Monico also suffered severe burns and was flown by a helicopter to Tampa General Hospital to be treated.

White said he was released on Sunday but the eight-month-old and two-year-old were still at the hospital as of Monday at noon.  They say the two-year-old is alright, but the eight-month-old did have burns from the incident.

Monico's children have two other siblings who were not with Monico and his girlfriend the night of the fire. Their mother is arranging funeral services for Alejandra for this Friday through Zipper's Funeral Home.

A candlelit vigil for the young girl took place Monday evening at the burned down mobile home.

The family is working to set up a donation center at a local bank.
