Brooksville, Florida -- The Brooksville community came together on Sunday to help the former employees of Papa Joe's Italian Restaurant.

The mom and pop restaurant was destroyed last month in a fire. Their employees, now out of work, were with Papa Joe's for decades.

But the owners are not giving up. They've been holding fundraisers to help them. Today, they held a chili cook off. Earlier this month, a yard sale raised more than $10,000.

The owners tell 10 News they plan to start rebuilding in their same location on Spring Lake Highway in about eight months.

In the meantime, they're trying to work out of a hotel kitchen for catering.
