St. Petersburg, Florida -- A man has died while working near power lines in St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue responded to 23rd Avenue Southeast after a man was electrocuted. They found the man hanging about 40 ft. in the air, hanging from a tree attached by his safety harmless.
Reportedly, the man was working for a tree service and came into contact with a power line that rendered him unconscious.
After navigating through the wires, fire rescue was able to reach the man and it was determined that he was in cardiac arrest. CPR and ALS procedures were performed and he was eventually taken to Bayfront Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased by the hospital.
St. Petersburg Police Department is completing a follow up investigated on the accident.
