The proposed Pasco County elevated Express Toll Road over SR-54 -- connecting US-19 in New Port Richey to US-301 in Zephyrhills -- takes another step toward fulfillment with build approval at the state level. What does that mean to you? Basically, the decision is now finding its way into YOUR hands.
The Express Toll Road was proposed by a private company, International Infrastructure Partners, LLC, in June of 2013 and would require that company to finance building and maintaining the road. In return, IIP would collect the tolls and lease the land and right-of-way from FDOT.
With a vote of confidence now issued from the Pasco County Board of Commissioners as well as the state government, it's time for Pasco County residents to get the opportunity to offer feedback.
Kris Carson of FDOT says an estimated three public meetings will be held over the next six months in locations at each end of the SR-54 (over which the toll road would be constructed) with the third being somewhere in the middle.
10 News will be sure to alert you as to the date and time of each of these meetings so that you can make your voice heard.
