St. Petersburg, Florida -- A trapped driver was rescued after a crash involving a moving van in St. Petersburg on Friday night.
St. Pete Fire and Rescue says around 7:30, a crash led to a passenger car underneath a moving van, with the driver of the passenger vehicle trapped inside.
Rescuers were able to extricate the driver, who was then transported to Bayfront Health Center. There is no word on the driver's condition.
Meanwhile, the moving van was leaking diesel fuel, and a HazMat team was called out to contain the spill.
Investigators believe about 30 gallons of fuel spilled before the HazMat crew was able to stop the leak, with about 15 to 20 gallons draining into the sewer.
The EPA and a local contractor are working to clean up, control and contain the spill.
