Tampa, Florida -- The Pasco deputy injured in a head-on crash that nearly took his life early in the morning New Year's Eve has been released from the hospital.
Deputy Darren Hill was rehabbing at Tampa General Hospital until he was allowed to go home Wednesday, three weeks after the crash in which he suffered a head injury, shattered bones and no memory of the truck plowing into his cruiser.
"I feel very thankful, I could be in much worse condition," Hill told reporters Wednesday. "[I'm going to] continue with the workouts, keep work on getting better until I can get back on my feet."
