Social media help for parents offered by Pinellas Sheriff's Office

Clearwater, Florida -- The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will host three educational seminars at three different county schools to help parents learn more about how to keep their kids safe from the dangers of social media, including bullying.

The course entitled, Social Media & Your Kids, is designed to teach parents how to keep up with social media.

The class will help adults get a handle on the various social media platforms, teach parents how to monitor their kid's online activity and help keep them safe from online trouble.

The session is also designed to provide parents with tips on how to engage their kids in conversation about social media; and on how to monitor their online activity.

"Whether you are worried about bullying, internet safety, or just need a refresher on popular applications that are being misused, I encourage parents to attend one of our "Social Media & Your Kids" educational sessions scheduled throughout the county," said Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.
