New Port Richey, Florida -- The Pasco Sheriff's Office is looking for a local child to be the star of public service announcement video that the agency is creating for broadcast on local TV channels.
The theme of the video will be on car burglary prevention, something so easy, even a child can do it -- especially if the doors are unlocked.
The campaign to select the child will be conducted through the Pasco Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
Parents and guardians of children who live in the Tampa Bay area whose have kids ages 4-7 can enter their potential star in the selection process by taking a short, 30-second video of their child doing anything that illustrates their child's energy and personality.
The PSO Community Relations section will select the top five videos that will be viewed by members who have liked our Facebook page, and will be able to vote for "liking" their favorite. The top vote getter will be the star of the video, and get a chance to meet Sheriff Nocco on the day of the video shoot.
Videos will be accepted during the 10-day period beginning Wed., Sept. 25, until Friday, Oct. 4. Videos should be submitted via private message to the Pasco Sheriff's Office Facebook page. Do not post the videos to the Facebook public wall. Videos that are erroneously posted to the Facebook wall will be removed and not entered into the contest.
Depending on how many videos are received, the top five videos selected by the Community Relations section will be posted to our Facebook page sometime the week of Oct. 7. Citizens will be able to vote on their favorite video for another 10-day period, with the winning video being announced on Oct. 21.
Shooting for the video will commence shortly thereafter, with an airing expected on local television channels by the end of this year or early next year.
