ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- A vehicle carrying 25-30 puppies arrived in the Tampa Bay area tonight after a 16-18 hour trip.

The dogs were rescued from a puppy mill in the Florida Panhandle.

Now that the dogs have arrived, the Suncoast Animal League says they will be bathed, vetted, and placed in foster homes.

The group consists of "designer" breeds: Poodle/Shih Tzu's, Poodle/Maltese, etc. Most will be spayed or neutered in the next few days, and they'll be eligible for adoption by the weekend.
