Carrollwood, Florida -- An accidental fire was contained by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Sunday morning.
Around 8 a.m., fire rescue responded to a home on Gardendale Drive in Carrollwood. Smoke and fire was found in the kitchen and fire rescue was able to contain the fire and extinguish it.
According to reports, there were no injuries and the fire was deemed accidental. No one was home at the time of the fire it was a nearby neighbor who heard the smoke alarm going off in the home and alerted fire rescue.
The largest percentage of fire deaths in the home occurs at night while people are asleep. Therefore, a working smoke alarm can provide an early warning that can make the difference between life and death.
