Polk County, Florida -- Servapalooza is an interactive volunteer festival, where businesses, non-profit, faith-based and government organizations throughout Polk County will showcase their community outreach projects and participants learn about local volunteer opportunities.
The event is part of a "National Day of Service & Remembrance" campaign.
It takes place this Saturday, September 7th from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Sun 'n Fun Fairgrounds in Lakeland.
Admission is free.

Attendees may participate in helping to construct wall frames for homes, pack food packs for homeless children, making memory books for hospice families, assemble gift bags for seniors, fill Christmas stockings, paint a mural promoting Polk tourism, make cards for Polk military and much more.
There's also a literacy activity for children with free books while supplies last.
Upon entering the fairgrounds, a convenient drive-thru drop-off area has been designated for donations of furniture, Bed Sheets (new or old), new- baby items to fit in Christmas stockings; Small toys/stickers children up to age 7 for Christmas Stockings; can goods & nonperishable foods for holidays; Paper goods - plates - napkins, cups, plastic ware; jewelry (new or broken); fabric; children's books.
Items will be distributed to participating non-profits who have requested them to serve their program's clients in Polk.

Visitors can also start their holiday shopping early while helping nonprofits help others.
Organizations may offer anything from Homemade Quilts to plants for sale. Tickets will also be sold for inflatable games, special events, and more.
Sports celebrities promoting community involvement will also be on-hand.
