Pinellas County, Florida -- After extensive review of the growing funding deficits in EMS operations, Pinellas County has undertaken a thorough review of its EMS System - to include the appropriate level of funding for both medical first responder and ambulance transport.

The current evaluation from Fitch & Associates will compare the operations and costs of the existing system compared to earlier conceptual proposal refrerred to as the IPS Plan and greater use of fire-based transport, referred to Sanford Millican Plan. Fitch & Associates final report to the Board of County Commissioners, sitting as the EMS Authority, is expected in the summer of 2013.
