Tampa, Florida -- A Health Advisory has been issued for Davis Island Beach based on the the amount of bacteria found in the water.
Samples taken Monday, June 10, were above threshold for enterococci bacteria.
Water quality categorizations are based upon the EPA's recommended standard for enterococci bacteria found in the water. At this time, the beach should be considered a potential risk to the bathing public.
The beach will be re-sampled, Monday, June 17, and when re-sampling indicates that the water is within the satisfactory range, the advisory will be lifted.
