Attorney General Pam Bondi speaks at press conference on the arrests of 10 "Norte 14" gang members.
Plant City, Florida -- In a press conference Monday, multiple law enforcement agencies announced the take down of members of a notorious gang in the Bay area.
After a 10-month investigation, 10 members of the "Norte 14" gang -- accused of committing violent crimes including aggravated battery, robbery, aggravated assault and homicide -- are behind bars and the residents of Plant City can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"These members of 'Norte 14' were based in Plant City and terrorized residents in Hillsborough and Polk counties," said Attorney General Bondi. "Operation Red Dawn is an excellent example of how a strong collaboration among law enforcement officers and my Office of Statewide Prosecution can help end gang violence in Florida."
The men face charges of racketeering and conspiracy to engage in racketeering for their alleged organized crime activity.
The investigation was a joint operation between the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Plant City Police Department, and Attorney General's Office of Statewide Prosecution.
