Sanford, Florida -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers are building a case against the driver involved a fatal hit and run motorcycle crash on I-4 early Sunday morning.

Investigators say witnesses saw a man driving a red Saturn knock a rider off his Harley Davidson motorcycle on westbound I-4. The owner of the car was identified as 23-year-old Victor Salinas, of Seffner, however, investigators are trying to determine if he was indeed the person behind the wheel at the time of the crash.

While authorities were trying to track Salinas down Sunday, that evening they discovered he had retained a lawyer who told them Salinas did not want to speak with investigators.

FHP says troopers are still processing the evidence and will press charges once they have enough to move forward.
