Progress Village, Florida -- A 3-vehicle traffic crash in the Progress Village area sent one person to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
Officials say the crash occurred around 12:36 p.m. when a semi heading south on 78th Street ran a red light and slammed into a car.
The vehicle spun around and hit a concrete truck that was at the red light. It then ran up under the front bumper of the concrete truck. After impact, the semi lost control and went through a fence and into the back yard of a home on the southeast corner of 78th Street and Madison Avenue.
The driver in the car, 72-year-old Carol Browning, was extricated by fire rescue crews and has been taken to a local hospital.
The driver of the semi, 55-year-old David Flint, was cited for running a red light. Neither him, nor the driver of the cement truck suffered any injuries.
