Pinellas Park, Florida - You might be wondering what the big deal is... or maybe even just, "What's a Wawa?" At first glance, it looks like any other convenience store with snacks, a soda machine, and donuts. But many say there's so much more to it than that.
"What makes us different is our robust food service offer," says Wawa's Public Relations Manager Lori Bruce.
So, why such a big buzz? Could it be the hoagie rolls freshly made every 30 minutes or the gourmet coffee bar... or maybe the full-service specialty beverage area?
Bruce describes, "We are known for our freshly prepared foods, customized and built-to-order by the customer. So they love us, because they can customize and make it their own way. They crave it, we'll make it!"
Wawa also has a touch-screen where you can order your sandwich just the way you like it, and this premium, high quality store can also save you some cash with a no-surcharge ATM.
The new Pinellas Park location is the first of five Wawa stores to open in Tampa Bay and the popular northeastern chain says investing in Tampa is a no-brainer.
"We think it's a great time to invest in the Tampa Bay market, and in Florida in general. We've been so delighted with the support we've received from community officials," said Bruce.
Wawa is also proud to be teaming up with local charities like Feeding America Tampa Bay and All Children's Hospital.
The new Wawa is located at 3101 Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas Park, and is open 24 hours.
